Flown Soyuz TMA-18M mission emblem flag carried to ISS on Soyuz TMA-18M. The sheer white nylon flag, which measures 147 mm x 225 mm (5.7875 in x 8.875 in) bears two on-board ISS handstamps: the octagonal “ISS On-Board” seal (blue ink); and a round “Russian Segment ISS” seal (blue ink) dated 5 September 2015—the date Expedition 44 Commander Gennady Padalka of Roscosmos handed over command of the ISS to Expedition 44 Flight Engineer Scott Kelly of NASA.

Soyuz TMA-18M was the 127th flight of a Soyuz spacecraft. It launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome on 2 September 2015. The ascent crew consisted of Russian cosmonaut Sergey Volkov (Commander), Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen (Flight Engineer), and a Kazakh cosmonaut Aidyn Aimbetov (Flight Engineer). This mission marked the first time men from Denmark and Kazakhstan had flown in space.

Soyuz TMA-18M returned to earth on 2 March 2016. During the descent flight, Soyuz Commander Sergey Volkov returned NASA astronaut Scott Kelly and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Korniyenko to earth after their historic Year in Space mission. This flag spent a total of 183 days in space, completing approximately 2,836 orbits of the earth, and traveling roughly 74,997,060 miles.
